Appraisals

We offer a comprehensive Jewelry Appraisal Service, primarily for determining retail values of jewelry articles for insurance replacement policies. All appraisals are done by our owner, Jack W. Hood, who holds a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Our appraisal laboratory contains a comprehensive list of gemological testing equipment, sufficient for most levels of Gem Identification, including a Video Microscope with a color monitor and video tape capability.

Appraisal prices are based on the complexity of the items being appraised and can vary. There is a minimum fee of $50.00, which will generally cover the first item, with additional costs ranging from $5.00 to $20.00 per item. Detailed quotes are available on request.
